In 2010, Skyway Luggage Company celebrated its 100th anniversary. After a century of business, Skyway celebrated not only reaching this milestone, but also the dedication and hard work it took to get there. Founded in 1910 by A.J. Kotkins, Skyway began its legacy as the Seattle Suitcase Trunk and Bag Manufacturing Company. Inspired by the promise of the budding air travel industry in the 1930's, the company began producing hand luggage, calling the pieces "Sky Way… Styled for the Sky".

The company expanded its sales nationwide after the end of World War II and shifted its focus from trunks and footlockers to suitcases. In 1955, the company officially adopted the name Skyway Luggage Company and enjoyed great success as an innovative force in the luggage industry, introducing such features as chrome hardware, vinyl covering, and, in 1972, wheeled luggage. Since then, Skyway has expanded its reach worldwide and has maintained its reputation for producing inventive and well-designed luggage. In February 2012, Skyway Luggage Company was acquired by Ricardo Beverly Hills. Ricardo Beverly Hills honors all warranty of Skyway pieces after the acquisition date. Skyway is unable to cover warranty on any luggage manufactured prior to this acquisition, as we did not take possession of inventory and do not have access to parts prior to this date.
